Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demirtaş, Head of the Department of Economics, became our university’s new Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demirtaş was appointed to replace Prof. Dr. Tuğrul Kandemir, whose term of office expired. Prof. Dr. Kandemir thanked the academic and administrative staff of the faculty for their support during his deanship.
The ceremony was attended by AKU Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karakaş, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Şuayıp Özdemir, as well as academic and administrative staff.
Prof. Dr. Tuğrul Kandemir expressed his happiness in handing over the deanship position, which he had held for seven years, to his colleague who had started as a student in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and risen to the rank of professor.
Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karakaş highlighted significant milestones in the history of the faculty, emphasizing the crucial role played by the faculty’s academics in the university’s institutionalization. Karakaş stated, ‘At a macro level, one of the most important aspects we plan to implement is establishing a system by granting people their deserved rights within the employment rights framework. Certain rules govern the university. The initiative of the administrator can determine how these rules are applied. We have experienced this in our previous roles and have endeavored to establish such an understanding as a result of these experiences. I believe we have made significant progress in this direction.’
Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demirtaş, who is assigned to the deanship position at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, said, ‘I aim for a process where the institutional structure of departments is further strengthened, performance is enhanced, and the institution fully embraces quality processes. I extend my gratitude to everyone for their contributions.’
Assistant Professors Hale Fulya Yüksel and Ali Balkı have been appointed as the new Vice Deans of our faculty.
