Central Bank Council Member Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar made a presentation on the World Economy at the 2023-2024 Academic Year Opening Lecture of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Prof. Dr. Kar emphasized the importance of examining the main institutions and the philosophy of the creation of these institutions in order to understand the world economy. Prof. Kar explained the most well-known international institutions, such as the World Bank (WB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Trade Organization (WTO), which were established after the Second World War for international monetary union, their structures and objectives. He also explained how the WTO tries to set international trade rules.
